As part of the Mass Timber course, architecture students learn about different wood joining techniques. Each of the four teams generated unique ideas and refined them over the Spring 2023 semester.
When designing the benches, they had to balance the size, weight and accessibility of the bench with the aesthetic beauty of the design.
In the woodshop, designs were put to the test of building. Some designs proved easier than others, but each team completed the fabrication.
