Community gardens help to build lasting relationships in neighborhoods. But for older or mobility-challenged adults, our traditional 8-inch high beds pose a real challenge.
Help an older or mobility-challenged person garden with us by sponsoring an accessible garden bed. Our 24-inch high accessible beds allows those with mobility limitations to stay engaged, get their hands dirty, and be a full participant in the garden.

You supply the funds, we’ll supply the volunteers to build it.
Converting one of our standard height beds to an accessible one costs about $400 for lumber, supplies and soil. Our goal is to convert all 33 beds at Cherry Street Community Garden.
An engraved donor sign will display your name when you donate an accessible bed in gratitude for your donation.
